In the last decade, since I moved to Canada, I have had the opportunity to meet Canadians from various walks of life – as a student when I was in college, as an immigrant looking for survival jobs in restaurants, factories and gas stations, as a new Canadian trying to develop roots in Canada, as a community worker volunteering with several community projects, as a Liberal during and between elections, as a professional meeting with business leaders across Canada, and many others. I have travelled to every province except NWT and Nunavut many times and continue to do so many times every year, so I have an understanding of the needs of Canadians from coast to coast.

My ideas are an amalgamation of my discussions with Canadians and my core values that have been my guiding principles

Democracy I believe that every human has the right to be heard for the issues that matter to them. VJMI2b

Globalization

I believe that technology is growing and the world is shrinking, we can be a part of globalization or become obsolete.

Security

I believe that terrorism eats away at the safety and security that are essential to our civilized world. Every effort must be made to release its iron grip over our lives.

Human Rights

And finally, I strongly believe that on the road to achieving greater democracy, to creating jobs through globalisation and to ending terrorism, human rights should not be compromised. The lives of innocent people should not become sacrificed on the road to victory.

While I want to share some of my ideas here, it is important that with an impending election, we unite as Canadians and Liberals to discuss and debate the ideas put forth by Michael Ignatieff for Canada. You can read about them here.

If you would like to discuss these ideas or anything else, feel free to use the Ask Vijay or contact page. If you would like to be a part of the bigger plan and support the Liberal party, you can fill out the volunteer page or contribute to the Liberal party.
